I
was interested in art as a child, then as an adult I thought I should
just explore art and found I love it. I began studying seriously and
then became a studio artist so that I could paint and create daily. I
also enjoy being around other artists, so I have my studio at Savage Art
Studios. It is wonderful to be around other creative people. I fit in.

Mary Aries
Mary
Aries began her journey to become a professional artist with some
exploratory classes at Minneapolis College of Art and Design,
followed by a workshop at Atelier Lack. These classes woke her
senses to the joy of creating art and set her on a passionate
life-long path of artistic expression. A wife and the mother of two
teenagers, she became a full-time student at Atelier LeSueur and
Minnesota River School of Fine Art. Her still life paintings reflect
her interest in antiques, a moment in time, and exploring that
special something found in ordinary objects. Plein air sketches and
studio landscapes give her a chance to engage and reveal the beauty
of the outdoors which she has loved since a child.
Her oil painting
The Chinese Teapot is featured in the book
by International Artist: How did you paint that? 100 different
ways to paint still life and floral.
