Along with the six tips we'll review camera operation, useful accessories and compositional aspects. Bring cameras and some previous photographs to the first meeting. Limit 3 to 6 students - You've got a great print or painting....now what? Matting and framing can seem like such a daunting task that you might even be tempted to turn over to a frame shop and pay a fee just to get a mat cut and frame assembled. You can do this yourself, we can help. Come join us and get some helpful hints, good material sources and the satisfaction of actually getting a couple of images matted and framed during the workshop. Your workshop fee will include most materials that we will supply, like the mat cutters, acid free hinge tape, double sided tape, rulers, scissors, foam core/backing board, fishing paper, wire and hanging hardware and tools. We'll have some standard mats in black, white and colors available, as well as, the colors you choose if locally available. 2 evening classes complete this workshop. with Darrell Tangen Wednesday Nights New 6 week sessions COMING JANUARY 2011 Winter Session: JAN 26 - MAR 2 Spring I Session: MAR 9 - APR 14 6PM to 8:30PM Price: $165 We will cover a variety of techniques, process, materials, settings and more during this on-going progressive class. Students will go from capturing the image to presentation of the print. Students will be given weekly assignments which we will review as a group the following week and learn by doing. We also plan to do field trips to teach students methods for working outdoors and on locations. Many of the newer cameras have close-up focusing to capture some amazing images. We'll review the techniques professionals use to create amazing close up images as well as landscapes and portraits. Discuss the accessories and options that are available for most cameras. Close up filters, macro lenses, adaptor plates, reversing rings, tripods brackets are some of the tricks of the trade. Depth of field is one of the most important aspects of photography. Lighting techniques and other camera settings. Offering each session. Each student will learn presentation techniques and have at least one print ready to display.
