PAINTING CAMPS—Kids & Teens with Jo Storey Does your child love to paint? Enroll your child in this class where they can safely experiment with watercolors and be introduced to other painting mediums, such as oil and acrylic. Your child will learn good habits foundational for artist’s safety and success. Classes may be progressive from week to week. There will also be an emphasis on enjoying your work. Minimum: 6 students weekly. Materials: 4H, 2B pencils, vinyl eraser, Prang 8 color watercolor set and watercolor paper (or your preferred painting medium). Ages: 8 – 15. Minimum 6/week. READY, SET, DRAWING CAMPS ! Fundamental Drawing Skills with Mary Klein, Jennifer Soriano & Jo Storey Learn traditional and timeless drawing methods in a fun, positive atmosphere. This class will provide an excellent environment for the serious young artist. Previous drawing experience is not a requirement, just a desire to learn! Student will receive both individual and group projects to strengthen their drawing skills. There will also be "Art walks" to reinforce students' ability to draw from direct observation. Additional challenging projects will be available for the more experienced drawing student. If you are serious about learning to draw well, this is the class for you! Weekly classes are designed to be progressive for returning students or stand alone for new students. Age: 8 – 18. Materials: 2B, 6B, 4H pencils, vinyl eraser and drawing paper. COLOR WIZARD CAMPS: Color Theory—Bring Artwork Alive—Mary Klein, Jennifer Soriano & Jo Storey Imagine having the power to mix ordinary materials like paint and pastel into a wide array of colors! In this class students will learn both the theory and practice of mixing color through a variety of color mixing games and projects. More advanced projects in color theory are tailored to fit the individual artist. Students will work from both master paintings and direct observation. Previous drawing experience is recommended but not required. This is a great series of classes to prepare any student for color mixing in a more advanced color media such as watercolor, oil or acrylic. Come make the magic of color mixing within your power. Home School Art Nature Captured with Shannon Steven (TAP) Learn the FUNdamentals of drawing with licensed art educator Shannon Steven. In this course we will use nature as our spring board for learning many drawing techniques and building on the skill you already possess. Explore several drawing mediums like pencil, chalk, conte crayon and charcoal. We will investigate nature up close through activities that improve even the experienced artist. Inspired by the life and work of artists like Gendron Jenson and Georgia O’Keeffe we will create our own masterpieces of grand proportions! Individualized instruction makes this class beneficial for all skill levels. Come join the fun! . After school - All about you! with Shannon Steven (TAP) Artists throughout time have been communicating through their art. Tell us about you! Let your interests guide you to learning and improving your drawing skills. Through fun drawing activities and positive environment you’ll improve your drawing skills while you work with objects that interest yo personally. We will learn drawing techniques that improve the accuracy of your representation and help you communicate your ideas more clearly. Create a Still-Life Self-Portrait using objects you bring from home as the final project. It will be a snapshot of your life at this time and a sure keepsake for years to come. Evening Class- Realistic Dreamscape with Shannon Steven (TAP) Use the principle of Scale to infuse drama and fantasy into realistic drawings. Work with a variety of drawing media (oil pastels, charcoal and pencil) to explore drawing techniques, hone rendering skills and create interesting and dynamic drawings. Keep a sketchbook to record your impressions of the world around you and bring them to inspire original dreamlike works of art. Build on drawing accuracy and aesthetic beauty through drawing exercises and final drawings. Individualized instruction allows each student to be challenged to reach their own drawing goals.
